She was the character Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace (1998-2006, 2017-2020) where she earned 8 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting actor in an Comedy Series winning twice in 2001 and in 2006. Her character also received nominations to numerous other awards, such as seven consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance of an Actress Female on a Comedy Series. She won three times between 2001 to 2002. Mullally's very first commercial was one of the McDonald's spot, which also was a tribute to John Goodman. Her career began in the 1986 series The Ellen Burstyn Show. She began ballet at the age of six and performed at the Oklahoma City Ballet during high school. She was also enrolled in the School of American Ballet in New York City.
